Background

Lady Une is a top notch solider of OZ as well as a loyal aide to Treize Kushrenada. Lady Une suffers from a split personality disorder which she herself is unaware of for most of the series. As Colonel Lady Une she is a strict, no nonsense kind of solider who is willing and able to get the job done by any means necessary. As Lady Une she is a much more kind and soft hearted individual whose goal is peace. For a good majority of the series Lady Une, though devoted to Treize, does not fully understand his ideals and as she is asked to carry out his more gruesome and bloody attacks (such as the asassination of Vice Foreign Minister Dorlain) she cannot comprehend why some of her actions are frowned upon by his excellency.

When she is sent to outer space to gain the trust of the colonies Colonel Une gives way to Lady Une. It is while she is in outerspace that meets Trowa Barton and is ultimately made aware of her split personality. Her love of and devotion to Treize causes Lady Une to put her life (and sanity) in danger numerous times. Lady Une even goes so far as to challenge Tuberov of Romafellor in order to save the lives of the gundam pilots and scientists, because of his excellency's ideals. After Tuberov shoots her Lady Une falls into a coma and soliders loyal to both her and his excellency make certain that they rescue her from Space Fortress Barge before its destruction (by Zechs) and return her to Earth, to Treize.

In the final battle, Treize and the Earth's Spheare Alliance goes head to head in battle against Millardo and White Fang. Sensing the immenate danger that Treize is in Lady Une awakens from her coma, steals the abandoned Wing Gundam and heads to outerspace just in time to save Treize from Libra's main cannon. It is then that we find out that not only has Lady Une come to finally understand Treize and ultimately his ideal, but that she has managed to find herself as well.

In Gundam Wing Endless Waltz, Lady Une is in charge of the task force known as The Preventors. The Preventers are charged with the ardorous task of policing both Earth and outerspace by preventing rebellions and uprisings in order to protect the peace. Lady Une now has the difficult task of keeping safe the dream that his excellancy died for. This task is made even harder when Treize's daughter Mariemaia Kushrenada, who is being manipulated by Dekim Barton, attempts to set herself up as ruler of Earth and outerspace by threatening to throw colony X-18999 into Earth; all so that she may carry out her father's will.

Lady Une rushes to save the girl before either Dekim (or possibly Heero) kills her. After bringing Mariemaia to her senses Lady Une adopts her and teaches her who her father really was.
