Fanlisting
This fanlisting was approved on May 9th of 2006. Work on By Any Other Name began three days later and was officially oppened on May 14th, 2006. By Any Other Name is a part of the Fanatic Otaku network, and is a Nanashi-Inc production.Layout
Layout version 1.0 features screen caps taken from episodes number 47 and 49. Images were screen capped by yours truly using Windows Media Player. Graphics and codes were created using Adobe Photoshop CS. The fonts used the layout's main graphic are Beautiful ES and Arial. The codes use 04b.Name
In my mind Lady Une is irreversibly tied to the image of a rose. She is beautiful and strong like a rose, but if you do not handle her with the utmost care you'll get hurt. Because of this I couldn't seem to come up with a name that didn't have something to do with a rose. Devil's Rose was the name used by another site as well as a doujinshi title. Lady Poison, another infamous doujinshi title didn't fit well and so I was stuck.I had been listening to "Lady '95" by The Guess Who and and so I was on the verge of just naming the fanlisting Lady '95 or Undone, which is another Guess Who song (if you've ever heard either song you'll understand). Then as I was tinkering around and downloading some new bruses [that had roses] that line from Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet came to my mind; A rose by any other name would smell as sweet. I liked it but of course that is way too long of a title. So then I decided to change the wording around just a bit to make it less formal sounding and somehow the idea of just naming the site "By Any Other Name" came to me. In the series we see Lady Une go through several changes before she finds herself a happy median between the extremes. Her different personalities are even denoted by different preferences of a name, yet despite how you change her name she is still the same person....so to me the name was a perfect choice.
