Biography: Scheris Adjani

Scheris Adjani is a vivacious, carefree, and exuberant character. Compared to the other members of HOLY, Scheris is like a breath of fresh air. Althouh she does believe in HOLY's ideals and mission, and inadvertantly believes herself to be untouchable [as she is a member of HOLY] Scheris does not follow HOLY's edicts completely. She often critcizes other characters (especially Ryuhou) of being too tense and stuffy and is always trying to get people to lighten up. Not to mention her daring, but cute, alterations to her uniform.

Scheris grew up on the streets of the Lost Ground and was a Native Alter user. On a daily basis Scheris was forced to fight for her survival and beat off others who would like to harm her because of the ability she was born with, her Alter. Eventually Scheris was captured by a street gang that was kidnapping and torturing Native Alter users. All of the others being held captive had already perished and Scheris was not far from giving up when HOLY raided the gang’s hideout and placed them under arrest. Ryuhou rescued Scheris and set her free, a word that she had long since forgotten the meaning off. From that day on he became her reason to live. It is from this event that Scheris' hero-worshipping of Ryuhou sprung from, and inadvertantly her love for him.

Note: The English dub changes this a bit and Scheris is instead supposedly being held captive for betraying the gang. This is not accurate and I advise you to watch the series in Japanese at least once or you will miss out on a lot.

Shortly after Scheris is rescued from the gang she joins HOLD and is then transferred to its department for Alter users, HOLY, where she is placed under the command of Martin Zigmarl. There she is reunited with Ryuhou. Scheris continues to train and develop her Alter ability but as a result of it's difficulty to use and control Scheris is trained more extensively than most of the other HOLY members (with the exception of Tachibana Asuka and Ryuhou) in hand to hand combat. Unlike the other members of HOLY Scheris cannot summon her Alter to do battle with it and as a result she does not rely upon only her Alter in battles like the others do.

Although Scheris does believe in HOLY's mission her true loyalty is to the man who gave her back her life, her freedom. When Ryuhou is struck with amnesia and refuses to return to HOLY Scheris is momentarily torn between her duty to HOLY and her love and devotion to Ryuhou. When HOLY declares Ryuhou a traitor and attempts to capture him, at any cost, Scheris throws away her career with HOLY and joins Ryuhou without a second thought.
