7 Year Timeskip

After the conclusion of the battle in Pieta and the events that play out at the end of volume tweleve of the manga the storyline undergoes a timeskip of seven years where we are treated to a few surprises. While the organization believes that all of the twenty-four warriors sent to hold off Isley's army perished in the battle in Pieta. At least they do until Clarice's tale puts doubt in their minds. In reality though, seven warriors managed to survive the suicide-mission.

Jean was sadly not one of the seven to survive the invasion of Pieta. However, a part of Jean continues to live on. Of the twenty-four warriors stationed in Pieta to halt Isley's army and to buy the Organization time to complete Alicia and Beth, seven survived the suicide mission. These seven carry with them the wills of their commrades in arms, whose lives were calously destroyed and remade due to the whims of the Organization and then thrown away like tools who had served their purpose.

Most importantly, Clare survived the last battle in Pieta and refuses to allow the second chance at life that was granted to her by Jean, to be thrown away. Secondly, during the 7-year period that the seven survivors were hiding out in the North, Helen, one of the survivors, has learned and mastered Jean's Drill Sword technique. Jean is not forgotten.
