Formerly known as Passerby, Flyleaf is a hard hitting band that hails from Temple Texas. Don't let this band's hometown mislead you, this isn't your grandma's southern rock. Flyleaf has been classified as a hard rock, alternative rock, and even a metal band. Classify them as you wish, this band still rocks.
The band was formed about six years ago by Lacey Mosley and James Culpeper. Jared Hartmann and Kirkpatrick Seals were recruited a bit down the road, and in 2002 Sameer Bhattacharya was brought in to help round out and balance the band's sound. The band has been actively putting out cds yearly (3 under their former name of Passerby and 3 under Flyleaf) although their latest selftitled cd, which was released in 2005, has been generating the most praise.
