Set several years after "The Great Uprising", a future geological phenomenon near Tokyo,
some people have developed a power granting them the ability to deconstruct, reshape, and
crystalize matter at a molecular level using only thought and willpower. These people
have come to be known as "Alter users", and with only 1% of the newborn generations
receiving such special power (though later in the series it is stated that the number
has increased to 5% and steadly cointinuing to rise), some feel a superiority over normal
humans.
.Scheris Adjani
Scheris, a former native alter user, joined HOLY after she was rescued by Ryuhou from a
a street gang that had been holding her [along with a few other alter users] captive.
Scheris had lost all hope and believed she was going to die just like the other prisoners
before her. After her rescue Scheris joined HOLD and was assigned to HOLY.
Scheris' alter is called Eternal Devote and is extremely difficult to use and to control.
Her alter ability allows her to heal other people as well as to inflict severe physical
pain with a touch. The drawback is that it severely saps her of her energy. At the cost of
her life, Scheris is able to revive a fallen Ryuhou.
Scheris, Sherrice, or Sherisu?
There seems to be a plethora of ways to spell her name - so which is it? Sherisu is the
Japanese version of her name, as their alphabet does not allow for the exact spelling
of her name. Scheris is the official spelling of her name in the series. Sherrice is the same
name but spelled differently. For the purposes of this fanlisting though I will use the
official spelling of her name, Scheris.
.Ryuhou
Ryuhou is the heir of the Tairen fortune and the strongest member of HOLY. His alter ability
is Zetsui a humanoid alter. Ryuhou is obsessed with hunting down the Alter user who killed
his mother during the great uprising and as a result is a very strict and determined
individual. He is a firm believer of justice and right and faithfully follows all edicts of
HOLD and HOLY.
When Ryuhou is struck with amnesia as a result of going to the other side Ryuhou is able
to revert back to the kinder person he once was. As a result of being able to see both
sides of the struggle (Native Users vs. HOLY) as an objective viewer Ryuhou comes to terms
with the fact that HOLY is not all that he believed it to be.
