Dragon Species
Antipodean Opaleye
Native to New Zealand and Australian valleys, it has irredescent pearly scales and vivid red flame. It is of medium size and it's preferred food is sheep. It's eggs are a pale grey colour
Chinese Fireball
A dragon native to China. It is a scarlet colour with a fringe of golden spikes around it's head. It produces a mushroom shaped flame, and it's prefferred food is that of pigs and humans. It's eggs are of a vivid crimson with speckles of gold. In the Triwizard tornament, it was Krum who was to go against this dragon.
Common Welsh Green
A native for the higher mountains of Wales, this dragon is predictably green. It shoots narrow jets of flame, and as with the Opaleye, it's favoured food is sheep. It's eggs are of an earthy brown which are speckled with green. It is Fleur who goes against this dragon in the Triwizard tornament.
Hebridean Black
A native to the Hebrides Islands, this dragon is of a dark colouring, with rough scales and ridges along it's back, it also has a spiked tail. It can grow up to 30 feet in length. It's eggs are of a bright purple, and favoured food is deer.
This ferocious dragon is a native to Hungary. It has black scales, bronze horns and a spiked tale. It's flame can shoot up to fifty feet and gives off a yowling, screeching scream. It's favoured foods are goats, sheep and humans, and it's eggs are of a cement colouring with extreamly hard shells. Harry has to face one of these dragons in the first round of the Triwizard tornament.
Norwegian Ridgeback
The Norwegian Ridgeback, is as the name suggests, native to Norway, living in the mountians. It's appearence is of black scales, bronze horns and black ridges on it's back. It also has venemous fangs. The Ridgeback will eat just about any large mammal, including water animals. It's eggs are black. Norbert, Hargrids pet dragon is one of this breed.
Peruvian Vipertooth
The Vipertooth is native to Peru, most probably the eastern regions in the mountains. It's appearence is smooth and copper-coloured, with short horns, it's fangs are quite venemous and it's size only 15ft. It's favoured foods are goats, cows and especially humans.
Romanian Longhorn
Not too much is known about this dragon. It's a native to Romania, possibly the province of Transylvania. It has dark green scales and long glittering golden horn.
Swedish Short-Snout
Native to Sweden's wild, unhabited mountain areas. It is of a silvery-blue colour and has a brilliant blue flame. In the Triwizard tornament Cedric must face this dragon.
Ukrainian Ironbelly
This dragon is a native of Ukrainian mountains. It is metallic grey in appearence with long talons. It is the largest of the dragons and can weigh up to six tons.
