I've been a bit of a busy bee this week! First of all, there are some new link buttons for my collective. I also tidied up the previous codes and deleted some that were just horrid.

The fanlisting for Jounouchi Sai of Angelic Layer has some new codes up as well!

And last, but certainly not least, there is a new layout up at Toxic Swill the Beer Hatelisting!

The new layout isn't quite as bright as the old one, although it does make use of bright colors none the less. It's also makes great use of grayscale, which is something I've been dying to try. Hope everyone likes it!

There have been a lot of updates across the network! First off, over twenty collective affiliates were deleted. Some were no longer linking back for whatever reason, others were dead links, and some even were closed or on a sort of "unsure hiatus".

Over the past couple of weeks, quite a few fanlistings have gotten some new codes as well. In some cases, these new codes have been long-awaited. In other cases I just added a few new ones to help round-out the selection and offer new sizes. The following fanlistings have had anywhere from 1 to 36 new codes added in the past two weeks:

With regards to the Anime Haters/Bashers Hatelisting, I don't think I'll every be satisfied with the assortment of codes offered. Everytime I think I have enough, I realize that there just isn't enough to ensure every anime fan who joins can choose a code from a series they like. lol

I received approval to build not one but three fanlistings from TAFL a couple of days ago. All three were for songs that were used as theme songs for Naruto Shippuuden and are my absolute fave songs for the Shippuuden seris to boot! Somehow I also managed to get them all done in just a few days too! I proudly present...

It Was You: Omae Dattanda
A fanlisting for Kishidan's "Omae Dattanda" which was used as the 11th ending theme for Naruto Shippuuden.

Protection in Pain: Sign
A fanlisting for my absolute favorite song from FLOW to date! FLOW's "Sign" was used as the 6th opening theme for Naruto Shippuuden.

Everybody Needs Somebody: Dareka ga
And of course, a fanlisting for PUFFY AmiYumi's "Dareka ga" which was the theme song for the 3rd Naruto Shippuuden movie: Inheritors of the Will of Fire. Heh, this is the second fanlisting I own for a song from these gals. XD

We're starting the New Year off right folks! New layouts are up at:
Memory Shrine - the fansite and fanlisting for Alice McCoy of Digimon Tamers
Elegance - Dorothy Catalonia's (Gundam Wing) fanlisting and mini-shrine.
Also, the layout for Country Girl - the Yamazaki Linna (Bubblegum Crisis) fanlisting and fansite was re-worked.

On top of this, over the past week or so, I've been adding new link buttons/codes to a bunch of listings. Listings got anywhere from 1 to 70 new codes added:

I plan on adding more codes to more listings soon and even add more to some of the listings that only got a few new codes thus far. You can also expect to see some more new layouts premiering soon. ~_^

I've been taking some time out to get my listings added to as many rotations and directories out there that they fit into. For example, getting my anime fanlistings added to the Fans R Us and some of mine to my fan/hate/taboolisting rotation Love & Loathe. There are some rotations I've noticed that no longer seem to be working, one is a 200x40 fanlisting rotation and another (Kanpai!) is a 100x35 rotation for Asian-related content sites. Both are showing "Internal Server Errors" now instead of the displaying sites in the rotation and I've checked the respective sites for these rotations but they both seem to still be active yet the code provided clearly doesn't work. One I can't find a way to contact the owner, the other I finally found a working email for (all 5 others I've tried were bouncing) but no word yet on what's up. I've taken down the code for the first one mentioned because the error looks icky and messes with the content at times. For Kanpai! though I'm going to wait a few more days to hear back from the owner and then, if nothing is heard or they say it's dead, I'm taking the code down.

Guess what? Any More Questions?: the Kennedy (BtVS) fansite and fanlisting has got a new layout up as well! It's actually been a long time in coming but layout thieves, content, and overall thieves seemed determined to steal everything from her site and I just couldn't bring myself to put up a new layout or add new content only to see it up on another's site word for word...again. However, it looks like all the thieves have been dealt with, three of them aren't even on the internet anymore and another has apologized profusely. I feel secure again in expanding the site. As such, the screencap galleries are back online and I'll be adding and updating the rest of the content over the next few days. There are also some new link buttons as well with more on the way!

I've been attempting to get the information and content located at various fansite/fanlistings up to date this past week. Here's where I've been busy at so far:

I plan to add more to the Vizard's site along with Terumi Mei's still though. I'm also hoping to get some work done on the fansites for Jinx, Cleopatra 2525, Lady Une, Sai & Naruto, and Hisagi Shuuhei & Muguruma Kensei. I would have had more accomplished, but I've gotten side-tracked a bit with cleaning up the coding on some of my older fansites/fanlistings, and even here on the collective, and trying to make it all more proper. Instead of using classes for headers I've replaced them with the proper <h1>, <h2>, and the like. Fixing unescaped actions, like <p align=right> to <p align="right">, and removing <b> and <i> and replacing them with <strong> and <em> - stuff like that. It's a lot of trouble when you have to go through a bunch of sites made through the years and correct past mistakes page by page, but in the end I think it's worth it.

I'm also working on a new layout for my fansite and fanlisting for BTVS: Kennedy as well. I thought it was high time she got a new layout. I did some screencapping earlier and hopefully I'll have the graphics for the new layout finished in a few days.

I've been quite the busy little bee, haven't I? LOL

I've been quite the busy bee here lately. First of all, I received approval from TAFL to build and run the fanlisting for the Godaime Mizukage of Naruto on the 16th of this month! Awesome isn't it? The fanlisting is up and running so if you're a fan be sure to drop on by and join. Also, the fansite is completely up as well and will be updated when new information regarding the Mizukage becomes available.

The reason I took so long to post about this exciting information is because my attention was split. When I wasn't working on the layout or content for the Mizukage's fl I was working on the new layout for Whirl: the Temari & Uzumaki Naruto fanlisting. Yes, at long last, the fanlisting has a new layout and it happens to feature images from after the timeskip too (finally) and I added a handful of new codes to boot. Aren't I awesome?

And you know, since I spent so much time and love on the Mizukage's fl and Whirl got a new layout as well, I didn't want to leave Sai & Naruto's fanlisting out either. Yesterday I finished getting the new layout up for Bonds of Friendship: Sai & Uzumaki Naruto fanlisting too!

I had my very own little Naruto Layout Marathon going on this past week! ROFL. I also went ahead and took this opportunity to update to the latest version of Enthusiast which was more trouble than I originally anticipated. O.o Still, it's done, and I'm glad.

Massive affiliate clean up across the Fanatic Otaku network is in progress! I've noticed that there were a lot of dead links in my affiliate sections on multiple fanlistings so I have been going through each and every fanlisting deleting affiliates. If you were affiliated with a fanlisting of mine and your link has been deleted it was probably because:

The link listed was dead
You were no longer linking back
Fanlisting was moved but no new url was provided

I've gone through my inbox and updated all affiliate links for which I received notification of a move. If I did not receive an email and you have moved and do not have a moved sign/redirect in place I likely just deleted your link. Please feel free to email me if your link was removed in error.

A new layout it up at Whirl: the Temari & Uzumaki Naruto fanlisting! It was a long time in coming! lol I'm still editing and changing things around, I must confess, but hopefully everything will be situated in the next couple of days. You can also expect to see some new codes too!

It took a while, but at long last, I have gotten a new layout for Dark Waters: the Aqualad & Raven fanlisting done and put up. It's nothing spectacular I'm afraid, but it does certainly look so much better than the previous one. ^_^

I'm working on some new codes for that fanlisting right now, so hopefully I can get them put up in a day or so. I also plan on making new codes for all of my Teen Titans fanlisting, barring the newest two, as I noticed a complete lack of 75x50 for all but the Teen Titans: [+] Characters fanlisting. That is something I definately want to remedy, plus, some of the codes on the fanlistings are just icky or ambiguous in their meaning. For example, the Mother Mae Eye fanlisting has a few codes that have images from the episode, true, but they just say "fan" on them. So really, they could also be interpreted as meaning "fan" of the character(s) depicted or the show itself. Ambiguous ground there.

At long last, Brand New Day: the Cleopatra 2525 fanlisting has a brand new layout!

I'm actually rather embarrased to admit that I had the screencaps for the layout and new codes sitting around for months before I got my butt in gear. But, hey, better late than never! So, new codes, new layout, and new content! What?! Yup, instead of being just a fanlisting, Brand New Day is now going to be offering up information and some media. Yes, I'm turning it into a combined fansite and fanlisting. ^_^

At long last, Egotist: the Brad Crawford (Weiss Kreuz) fanlisting is up and running! I actually got it up yesterday evening but was a little too worn out to post about it here. ^^;

I'm fairly pleased with the end result, although it's the original design I had intended. My original plans had to be scrapped when I could figure out a way to make it work in both Firefox and IE. When divs didn't work, I tried tables, but was met with no success. =( So I had to scrap it, modify the header for a simpler design and go from there. Live and learn, right?

I've got a lot of fanlistings who have not received a new layout since their creating. Granted, when I first created the layouts I had hoped to make them become a sort of signature for the site and that they would have some longetivity. However, in some case, I'm itching to change them. One of the fanlistings I'm dying to make a new layout for is Brand New Day: the Cleopatra 2525 fanlisting. Since there seems to be some coding flaws in the design to boot, I am even more eager to give it a makeover. ^_^ Hopefully I can squeeze in some time to screen cap a few episodes so that I can make a worth while layout and some new codes.

You might have noticed a few changes around here with regards to the layout and navigation. At least I hope the changes are noticeable! I've been doing some sprucing up today, took down the skinning feature since not many seemed to care for or use it, and spruced up Shani's skin to make it the permenant layout here at Fanatic Otaku. Sadly, it's come to my attention that while my fanlisting and shrines for Lisa and the Vizard look just fine in Firefox, Internet Explorer has a coniption fit with the backgrounds used for the content of the listing. As a result, the borders are moved around and look funky. I'm hoping to tweak that to see if it can't be fixed. If not, I'll just have to convert the fanlistings from divs to tables.

Alright folks there have been some major updates to the network lately. Here's a quick summary:

Life Debt: Jean (Claymore) - the Fanlisting and fanshrine for Jean is up and running.
War for Vengeance: Deneve (Claymore) - the fanlisting and fanshrine for Deneve is also up and running too!
Yadomaru Lisa's (Bleach) fanshrine has been updated to reflect the new information gleaned from recent manga chapters.
the Vizard (Bleach) fanshrine has had new sections added to it as well. You can also view the latest manga chapters in their entirety at the shrine right now since they are centered on the Vizard.

I've already begun work on Deneve's fanlisting, in fact it's almost finished. Just need to make some codes and it will be officially open. The content section will take a bit longer since I'm not sure how I want to display the information.

I have a vague idea on how I want Helen's fanlisting to look, but Jean's is totally up in the air. Without a doubt, Deneve and Helen's fanlistings are going to made using manga scans because I want images of them after the 7 year skip in there (I love those outfits!) and the anime deviates from the manga and reaches an end so you never see those outfits. Jean's, I would like to use anime screencaps, but I'm having a hard time finding images and the episodes I have are in .rmvb format so they're not that high quality.

I'm Still in shock. I opened my inbox today to see not 1, not 2, but 3 approval emails from TAFL.org today! I got approved to build and run the fanlistings for Deneve, Jean, and Helen from Claymore. *sqeauls* Ever since I first saw the anime I've been hooked to this series and have been avidly following the manga, so this is a great joy for me. ^_^

After noticing some dead links amongst my collective affiliates I went on a bit of a cleaning spree. 17 links were deleted and removed due to being dead or no longer linking back. After that rather alarming amount I've begun weeding through each individual fanlisting. I haven't even completed going through all of my fanlistings yet and already I've removed 75 links. That is insane! I'm about only a quarter of the way through and already I'm in the double digits. That number, also, does not include the links that were affiliated with multiple listings either, they were only counted once.

Is it really too much to ask that you notify your affiliates if you move/close or adopt out a fanlisting? Apparently.

In the case of fanlistings I adopted, I've noticed some are still linking to the old link, despite being mailed about the change of owner and url at least once (and some cases) up to three times. In the case of the folks not updating the link, well in most cases it leads to a dead link so there is no way for fans to follow along. So as I find them, I'm emailing them. I'll check back in a month and if I haven't gotten any word back and the link still isn't changed then I'm just deleting the folks. The hell with it.

O.O All of which are character fanlistings, Helen, Deneve, and Jean still do not have fanlistings for them (which has been killing me!) so I caved and applied for their fanlistings. Then I noticed Brad Crawford of Weiss Kreuz was availble...wish me luck ya'all!

Also, Dark Waters, the Aqualad and Raven (Teen Titans), fanlisting has under gone some revamps. I've tidied up the sidebar a bit as well as added a new section. Keep an eye out on the fanlisting, it'll be getting a brand new look soon! ~_^
